About OJEE

OJEE is the entrance examination used for admission to several professional courses offered by universities, government colleges and private institutions in Odisha. The examination is organized by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Committee under the state’s Skill Development and Technical Education Department. Depending on the course, OJEE covers programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The exam is not limited to one particular stream. For undergraduate admissions, OJEE includes courses such as B.Pharm, Integrated MBA, B.CAT and nursing programmes, along with lateral entry options for students moving into the second year of B.Tech or B.Pharm. At the postgraduate level, candidates can appear for courses including MBA, MCA, M.Tech, M.Pharm, M.Arch, M.Plan and M.Sc. Computer Science.

OJEE is conducted in computer-based test mode. For the 2026 session, the main examination was scheduled in May, while the official schedule and notices also provided information for the second or special OJEE conducted later for eligible courses. Candidates apply online through the official OJEE website, select the courses they are eligible for and complete the application fee payment online.

One important point for engineering aspirants is that OJEE itself is not the entrance test used for regular first-year B.Tech admission in Odisha. The official 2026 brochure states that candidates seeking admission to B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Plan and Integrated M.Sc. courses have to qualify through JEE Main, with OJEE handling the related counselling process for eligible Odisha candidates.

The OJEE rank is used for the courses for which the examination is conducted. After results are announced, eligible candidates can participate in the web-based counselling and seat-allotment process. The final college and course options depend on the candidate's rank, eligibility, category and available seats.
