About AP EAPCET

The Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test, widely known as AP EAPCET (earlier called AP EAMCET), is the key state-level exam that opens the door to undergraduate professional courses in Andhra Pradesh. It is conducted every year by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education and helps students secure seats in engineering, agriculture, pharmacy and related programmes offered by government, private and affiliated colleges across the state.
The test runs in computer-based mode and is held separately for two streams. Engineering aspirants face a three-hour paper with 160 multiple-choice questions—80 from Mathematics, 40 from Physics and 40 from Chemistry. Those opting for agriculture or pharmacy get the same number of questions but with Biology (Botany and Zoology together making 80) instead of Mathematics, plus the usual Physics and Chemistry sections. Every correct answer carries one mark and there is no negative marking, so candidates can attempt freely without the fear of losing marks. The paper is available in English and Telugu.
For the 2026 cycle the engineering sessions took place across several days in mid-May while the agriculture and pharmacy papers followed immediately after. Results and the subsequent counselling process have been progressing through the summer months, with multiple rounds of seat allotment still under way. AP EAPCET continues to serve as the primary pathway for most state-quota seats in these professional courses, offering a straightforward and widely accessible route for students from the region.
