About School of Engineering, RK University

If you grow up around Rajkot, you know this region runs on machine tools, casting foundries, and raw grit. The School of Engineering at RK University feeds this exact ecosystem. It gives Saurashtra engineering aspirants a direct route to technical careers without needing to relocate to Ahmedabad or Baroda. Expect to spend your afternoons working on actual machines on the Bhavnagar Highway campus rather than just writing down definitions.

Admissions Overview

Getting in is straightforward because the college prioritizes your school performance over high-pressure national competitive tests. While the majority of seats are distributed through the Gujarat ACPC system based on state board results and GUJCET, the university manages direct enrollment for vacant seats on its own merit criteria.

Apply directly through the RK University online application portal with your final Class 12 board marks.
The university prepares a merit list specifically using your PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Math) theory scores.
Once selected, you will need to present your physical marksheets on the Rajkot campus to finalize your registration.

On-Campus Amenities

Facility	Description
Hostels	Separate residences for boys and girls on campus, complete with solar-heated water and dedicated shuttle buses that run to Rajkot city on weekends.
Sports / Playground	A large clay-topped sports field where local inter-branch cricket matches and football games get incredibly competitive under the Saurashtra sun.
Library	A multi-story study resource house holding extensive text collections on CNC machining, foundry technology, and coding, along with quiet zones for GATE prep.
Cafeteria / Canteen	The main dining area serves freshly prepared Kathiyawadi meals, complete with local buttermilk (Chhas), acting as the loudest social hub between laboratory sessions.

Our take: This college is a great fit if you want a direct path into local Saurashtra manufacturing, tooling, or regional IT setups without the intense competition of metro institutes. However, if you are looking for massive multinational corporate day-one placements or a fast-paced metropolitan lifestyle, the highway campus here will feel a bit too quiet.
