About Kadiri Babu Rao College for Agriculture

Most agricultural colleges in Andhra Pradesh focus heavily on wet-land paddy systems, but here in the semi-arid stretches of Prakasam, our learning revolves around dryland farming and water-efficient crop management. Our training happens in actual red-loam experimental plots under real-world water constraints. You spend less time memorizing textbook yields and more time figuring out how to make crop rotations work in drought-prone conditions.

Admissions Overview

Admission here depends directly on the official state-level merit rank, particularly the AP EAPCET counseling allocations under the university quota. Once the state releases the initial merit lists, our college publishes its specific cutoff ranks for both the general category and local farmer quotas on the physical notice board and the online portal.

To secure your spot after the cutoff ranks are declared, you must bring your original verification documents and proof of agricultural landholding (if applying under the farmer quota) directly to the Kanigiri campus. Physical verification of your allotment letter is required to complete your registration.

Life on Campus

Facility	Description
Computer Center / Wi-Fi Campus	The computer lab runs agricultural GIS mapping software to help us analyze regional soil patterns, backed by internet connectivity that stays active during rural power cuts.
Sports / Playground	The outdoor ground features a dedicated volleyball court and a cricket pitch where inter-batch matches kick off every Saturday evening after field hours.
Library	Beyond standard agronomy textbooks, the library maintains a dedicated collection of regional Telugu farming journals and dryland research bulletins from ANGRAU.
Transport	College buses run daily routes connecting the campus to nearby towns like Kanigiri and Podili, saving us from relying on irregular public transport.
Cafeteria / Canteen	The canteen serves regional Andhra meals featuring local ragi and millet options, keeping food simple, affordable, and reflective of local dietary crops.
Hostels	Separate residential wings for men and women feature solar water heaters and are situated right next to the experimental farms for easy early-morning field duty access.

Net-net: If you are expecting a leafy, urban campus with high-tech indoor entertainment, this rural, farm-first setup will feel isolating. It is built strictly for those who do not mind getting their boots muddy at 6:00 AM on the experimental crop fields.
