K.G. Engineering Institute (KGEI), founded in 1922 by the then Sub-Divisional Officer Krishna Gopal Ghosh, is a premier government polytechnic located in the historical "Temple City" of Bishnupur. Spanning 22 acres, it is one of the oldest and most respected technical institutes in West Bengal. The college is controlled by the Department of Technical Education, Training & Skill Development and is dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality technical education to the rural and urban youth of Bankura and beyond.

Admission Process ๐
Admission is conducted as per the centralized norms of the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education. The selection is strictly based on performance in state-level entrance examinations.
- Entry Point (JEXPO): Admission to the 1st year of the 3-year Diploma is through the JEXPO entrance exam conducted annually.
- Lateral Entry (VOCLET): ITI or 10+2 (Vocational) pass candidates can gain direct admission to the 2nd year via VOCLET.
- Eligibility: Minimum 35% marks in Madhyamik (Class 10) or equivalent examination with Science and Mathematics.
- Counseling: Seats are allotted through an online counseling process based on the state rank of the candidate.
