About College of Veterinary Science, Garividi

This college is built specifically for young people who have a quiet, practical determination to work with animals and want to build a career in veterinary medicine rather than traditional human healthcare. Located in the semi-rural setting of Garividi in Vizianagaram, it functions as a constituent unit of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU). Students here spend less time in air-conditioned classrooms and far more hours in livestock sheds, diagnostic clinics, and regional poultry units.

Admissions Overview

The path to joining the veterinary program at Garividi involves state-level selection followed by a practical verification round to ensure students are prepared for the physical demands of animal care.

Candidates must secure a qualifying rank in the Andhra Pradesh EAPCET (Agricultural stream) with high marks in the Biology, Physics, and Chemistry papers.
Eligible ranks are called to register online through the centralized Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University counseling portal.
Selected applicants must attend an in-person physical fitness assessment at the university center to confirm their physical capability for handling large livestock.
The final step requires presenting physical certificates, including mandatory rural study proof if claiming local quotas, directly at the Garividi campus registration office.

Life on Campus

Facility	Description
Hostels	Separate residential units for men and women, built to accommodate students who must remain on call for overnight clinical duties and animal births at the veterinary hospital.
Transport	Dedicated institutional vehicles that transport batches of students to outlying sheep farms, dairy cooperatives, and rural animal husbandry centers for field training.
Computer Center / Wi-Fi Campus	An internet-enabled resource room where students access veterinary databases and disease mapping software crucial for their clinical case studies.
Cafeteria / Canteen	A simple, clean dining mess serving wholesome local Andhra meals designed around the demanding early-morning schedule of livestock feeding rotations.
Sports / Playground	Ample open grounds where students unwind with football and volleyball, providing essential physical relief after hours of standing in veterinary operation theaters.

Worth knowing: Garividi is a quiet, remote location, so students should not expect urban mall culture or active city nightlife nearby. If your child is squeamish about physical dirt, handling large farm animals in muddy conditions, or attending to emergency medical cases at odd hours, this intense professional path will be a poor fit.
