About Baker College for Women

Kottayam is defined by its low-slung hills, rubber plantations, and a history of publishing that earned it the moniker 'land of letters'. Right on Baker Hill, overlooking the bustle of the town, sits Baker College for Women. It is a quiet, focused space where women from across central Kerala gather to study under the Mahatma Gandhi University curriculum.

Getting In

The college fills its seats based on a merit list generated from your qualifying higher secondary marks. Since the institution is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, your index marks are calculated using the university's standardization formula, factoring in subject-specific weightage for courses like English Literature or Commerce. Once the college releases its official cutoff list on the campus board and website, you must verify if your index score matches the department’s requirements for that round.

If you meet the cutoff, you must attend an in-person document check along with your original Transfer Certificate and academic mark sheets. The college secures your enrollment immediately upon verifying these documents and receiving the term fees, meaning you cannot defer the payment once the spot is offered.
