About Al Ameen Engineering College

Most engineering colleges in Palakkad are tucked away in isolated rural pockets, but Al Ameen Engineering College leverages its proximity to the major Shoranur railway junction to draw students from three adjoining districts. Managed by the Al Ameen Educational Trust, the institution focuses on core engineering streams mapped to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University curriculum. The campus avoids urban distractions, prioritizing practical laboratory work and regional industrial site visits over theoretical learning alone.

Admission Process

State Entrance Registration: Candidates must register for and take the KEAM exam, selecting Al Ameen through the single-window centralized allotment process.
Transcript Verification: Applicants seeking management seats submit their high school mark sheets to the Kulappully campus to verify compulsory physics, chemistry, and mathematics requirements.
Aptitude and Interview Round: Shortlisted students attend a face-to-face academic interview at the campus to assess their basic technical awareness and interest in their selected engineering branch.
Document Authentication: Selected candidates report to the administrative building to verify physical certificates, including migration and KEAM scorecard details.

On-Campus Amenities

Facility	Description
Student Clubs & Societies	The college runs active IEEE and ISTE student chapters, focusing on small-scale coding competitions and hardware circuit design.
Sports / Playground	A multi-purpose sports ground is maintained on site, hosting annual inter-departmental track meets, football matches, and cricket nets.
Library	The college library houses over 15,000 reference books, focusing strictly on KTU syllabi and physical engineering journals.
Cafeteria / Canteen	A dedicated dining hall serves traditional Kerala cuisine and light refreshments, tailored to the daily timetables of commuting students.

One thing to note: Since the campus relies heavily on Shoranur’s railway connectivity, students should verify local train timetables against class schedules before choosing to commute daily. Those seeking a highly cosmopolitan campus environment might find the local, academic-first culture somewhat restrictive.
