Countdown Begins: CBSE Class 12 Results Expected Anytime Now

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is in the final stages of preparing the Class 12 results for over 18 lakh candidates. Following the conclusion of exams on April 10, 2026, officials have utilized an advanced on-screen marking system to expedite evaluation while ensuring accuracy. While an exact time hasn't been set, trends suggest the portal will go live in the last week of April or the first week of May.

Students should have their admit cards ready as they will need three key pieces of information to log in: their Roll Number, School Number, and Admit Card ID.

CBSE Class 12: At a Glance

Detail Information
Expected Result Date April 30, 2026 (Likely)
Exam Dates Feb 17 – April 10, 2026
Min. Passing Marks 33% (Theory and Practical Separately)
Credentials Needed Roll No, School No, Admit Card ID

The Critical 33% Separate Passing Rule

Unlike Class 10, where internal and theory marks are combined, Class 12 students face a stricter barrier. You must score 33% in the theory component and 33% in the practical/internal assessment separately.

  • For an 80-mark theory paper: You need at least 26 marks to pass the theory section.
  • For a 70-mark theory paper: You must secure a minimum of 23 marks.

If you fail the theory but score full marks in the practical, your result will still show "RT" (Repeat Theory), requiring a compartment exam attempt.

How to Download Your Digital Marksheet

Once the result is declared, official websites often face heavy traffic. To avoid delays, students can use these authenticated alternatives:

1. DigiLocker: Log in to your DigiLocker account using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Digital marksheets downloaded here are legally valid for university admissions across India.

2. UMANG App: Download the UMANG app, search for "CBSE," and enter your credentials to view and save your scorecard instantly.

3. SMS Service: If the internet is down, send an SMS in the format CBSE12 [RollNo] to 7738299899 to receive your subject-wise marks via a text reply.

Post-Result: Revaluation and Verification

If you feel your marks do not reflect your performance, CBSE will open a window for marks verification and photocopy requests approximately 7 to 10 days after the results. Note that you must first apply for verification before you can request a photocopy of your answer sheet or move to final re-evaluation.

Conclusion

As the April 30 deadline approaches, keep your digital admit card handy. Remember that CBSE no longer releases a toppers list to reduce student pressure; focus instead on meeting the eligibility criteria for your chosen undergraduate streams.
