Fresh Opportunities at India’s Spaceport: ISRO Invites Applications for 97 Posts at SDSC SHAR

Aspiring engineers, science graduates, ITI certificate holders and nursing students now have a clear window to apply for roles at one of India’s most important space facilities. Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, the primary launch centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation, has released Advertisement No. SDSC SHAR/RMT/03/2026 inviting online applications for 97 posts.
Online registration began on 19 October 2026 and will remain open until 9 November 2026 at 23:59 hours. Candidates must complete the process through the official recruitment portal of SDSC SHAR.
The vacancies cover a wide range of educational backgrounds. Technical Assistant posts (14 vacancies) require a first-class three-year diploma in mechanical, electrical, computer science, electronics and communication or civil engineering. Scientific Assistant roles seek first-class B.Sc. graduates with Physics as the main subject or those with a relevant fine arts degree in photography or cinematography. Library Assistant ‘A’ needs a first-class graduation plus a master’s in library science. Nurse ‘B’ positions call for a first-class three-year nursing diploma with state council registration.
The largest group is Technician ‘B’ with 43 vacancies. These are open to candidates who have passed Class 10 and hold an ITI, NTC or NAC certificate in the relevant trade. There is also one Draughtsman ‘B’ post, two Fireman ‘A’ positions, driver roles for both light and heavy vehicles, and 16 Multi-Tasking Staff vacancies that require only a Class 10 pass.
Age limits are generally 18 to 35 years as on 9 November 2026, with a lower upper limit of 25 years for Fireman and Multi-Tasking Staff posts. Relaxation applies as per government norms for reserved categories. Pay scales are in the range of Level 1 to level 7 of the pay matrix with stable government job and other benefits associated with being part of a central government organization.
Selected candidates may be posted at Sriharikota or other ISRO centres as required. For students who have just completed or are about to finish diploma, ITI or undergraduate courses, these openings provide a direct pathway into a high-profile scientific organisation without the need for lengthy additional qualifications in most cases.
Parents and teachers guiding career choices will find the range useful: diploma holders in engineering disciplines, science graduates, nursing students and even Class 10 pass-outs with vocational training all have relevant options. The short application window means interested candidates should check the detailed notification carefully, gather required documents such as certificates, photographs and signatures in the specified formats, and complete the form well before the deadline.
Application fees are Rs 750 for the higher-level posts and Rs 500 for the others. The selection process typically involves a written test followed by skill or physical tests where applicable, document verification and medical examination.
This recruitment adds to the steady stream of opportunities that India’s growing space sector continues to create for young people with technical and vocational skills. Those who meet the eligibility criteria would do well to apply promptly while the window remains open.
