UP Board Extends Timeline for 2027 Exam Centre Selection Process

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has revised the schedule for deciding examination centres for the 2027 High School and Intermediate board exams. The change gives district administrations and schools additional time to complete the online process that includes physical verification of facilities. According to board secretary Bhagwati Singh, the revised timeline follows a government decision to modify the earlier schedule. The most immediate change is the deadline for uploading the physical verification report of schools. This report, which includes recommendations from the tehsil-level committees formed by district magistrates, must now be uploaded by 12 October. The previous deadline was 12 September. Once the verification data is in, the board will release the list of schools selected as examination centres along with the student allocation details on 22 October. Earlier this list was scheduled for 21 September. A separate list of schools facing debarment, withdrawal of recognition or those found ineligible will appear on the board website on 28 October. The window for raising objections has also been lengthened. Students, parents, principals and school managers can submit objections through the board portal after districts publish notices in newspapers. The last date for filing these objections is now 6 November. District Inspectors of Schools will examine the objections and place them before the district-level centre determination committee. Their recommendations must reach the board by 16 November. The board will then upload the list of centres approved by the district committees, including student allocations, on 21 November. A short additional period will allow stakeholders to point out cases where students have been allotted centres beyond the prescribed distance or where centres have been given more students than their permitted capacity. After these final objections are disposed of, the complete and final list of examination centres will be published on the board website on 27 November. School principals need to ensure their infrastructure details are accurate and that the physical verification process is completed smoothly so that the reports can be uploaded on time. Teachers involved in the verification committees will have a slightly extended window to finish their work. For students and parents, the longer timeline means the final allotment of centres will come a little later than originally planned, but it also provides more opportunity to raise genuine concerns about distance or capacity before the list is locked. The board has clarified that the revised dates do not alter the basic provisions of the earlier government orders that mandate an online, transparent process for centre selection. Schools and district education offices are expected to follow the new calendar strictly so that the 2027 board examinations can be conducted smoothly at properly verified centres.
