The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission has started the Preliminary Eligibility Test 2026 in Mathura. The exam is being held at 33 centres in the district. A total of 84,816 candidates are scheduled to take the test across six shifts on three dates.
The commission has planned the exam for 25 October, 30 October and 1 November 2026. Each day has two shifts. Officials have put in place detailed arrangements to run the process smoothly and without unfair practices.
To maintain fairness, authorities deployed 33 sector magistrates and 33 static magistrates. CCTV cameras cover the centres. Entry checks are strict, with verification steps at every gate. These steps form part of a wider effort across the state to protect the integrity of the exam.
The PET acts as a qualifying test. Candidates who clear it become eligible to apply for several Group B and Group C posts under the Uttar Pradesh government. Many young people use this exam as their first step toward stable government jobs such as junior assistants, lekhpals and other clerical roles.
Statewide registration crossed 35 lakh this year, higher than the previous cycle. In Mathura alone the numbers remain significant, showing strong local interest. On the first day, candidates reached centres early. Staff checked documents and identities carefully before allowing entry.
Parents and teachers in the region have been following the process closely. Many families see the PET as an important opportunity for their children. Clear instructions on reporting time, admit cards and prohibited items have helped reduce last-minute confusion.
The commission continues to monitor the remaining shifts. Results and further selection stages will follow once the full exam concludes. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website of UPSSSC for latest updates regarding their specific dates & any notification.
This round of testing shows the level of competition for government jobs in Uttar Pradesh. With good planning and visible security the focus is still on providing a level playing field for all candidates.
