The wait is over for postgraduate doctors aiming for super specialty seats. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has begun accepting applications for NEET SS 2026.
Registration went live on October 29 from 3 pm on the official website natboard.edu.in. Candidates have until 11:55 pm on November 18 to complete and submit their forms. The computer-based exam will take place on December 11 and 12 at centres across the country.
NEET SS remains the single qualifying and ranking test for admission to Doctorate of Medicine, Master of Chirurgiae and Doctorate of National Board super specialty courses. For many young specialists, clearing this exam is the next major step after MD, MS or DNB.
The information bulletin is already available on the NBEMS website. It covers eligibility, exam pattern, fee details and other rules. Candidates should read it carefully before starting the form. The application fee stands at Rs 3,500 for each group a candidate chooses.
Those who qualify can appear for more than one group if their postgraduate qualification allows it. Choosing the right group early matters because the fee is charged per group and is not refundable once paid.
After the last date, an edit window will open from November 20 to 23 for candidates who have successfully paid the fee. A separate window later will allow correction of photograph, signature or thumb impression if needed. City intimation is expected around November 30, with admit cards scheduled for December 7. The results are expected by 12 January 2027. Doctors who intend to present must have their documents ready, including details of medical registration and proof of postgraduate qualification. The cut-off date for completing the required broad specialty degree is December 31, 2026.
Application is entirely online. Candidates need to register, fill personal and academic details, upload documents, select the appropriate group and pay the fee. Using a computer rather than a mobile phone is advised to avoid technical issues.
This registration window is the next stage for medical graduates who have completed their postgraduate training. It is recommended to fill in the form within the time limit and to refer to the information bulletin to avoid any last minute difficulties.
