A post shared on X claimed that a 22-year-old IIT student secured a three-month internship in Bengaluru with a staggering ₹3 lakh monthly stipend. The company was also reportedly offering free hotel accommodation.

And naturally, the internet lost its mind.

Some people were genuinely impressed. Others looked personally attacked by the numbers. A few tech workers jokingly compared the internship pay to what full-time employees earn after years in the industry.

The original post was shared by investor and entrepreneur Kush Agarwal, who described the internship as being offered by an American cybersecurity company founded by Indians.

He didn’t reveal the company name. But online speculation started almost immediately.
