Medical aspirants who are still waiting for an MBBS seat have one more opportunity this month. The Medical Counselling Committee has started a special stray vacancy round to fill seats that remained empty after the regular counselling rounds.
Around 2,000 MBBS seats are still available across the country. Registration opened on 2 November and will stay open till 3 pm on 4 November. Fee payment is allowed till 6 pm on the same day. Students can fill their college choices from 2 November to 11 am on 5 November. Choice locking runs from 4 pm on 4 November till 11 am on 5 November.
The allotment process will take place on 5 and 6 November. Results are expected on 7 November. Candidates who get a seat must report to the allotted college between 7 and 16 November, latest by 5 pm on the last day. All timings follow the MCC server clock.
This round is mainly for candidates who did not get a seat in earlier rounds or who are eligible under the rules for the remaining seats. The same schedule also covers the fifth round for BDS and B.Sc Nursing. A separate sixth round for those two courses will come later in November.
Students should log in to the official MCC website today itself and complete registration without delay. Keep documents ready, check the seat matrix carefully, and arrange colleges in order of preference. Payment confirmation is important. Leaving everything for the last day often leads to technical problems.
Parents and students need to understand that this is a limited window. Seats are fewer than in earlier rounds and competition remains high. Still, for many who scored qualifying marks but could not secure a seat so far, this special round offers a real chance before the academic year progresses further.
Keep a regular eye on the MCC portal for any updates and complete the process well within the deadlines. Applications that are not completed by this date will not be considered.
